One of the keyways in the wheels was known to be off by about 1 degree. I needed to know the exact angular offset, and I had to assure myself that the other wheels were correct. I made a measuring fixture. The first step was to make a plug for the rotary table. The smaller diameter was a close slip fit in the table and the larger was an even closer slip fit in the wheel bore.
Here the wheel is installed on the fixture and a key inserted. The crankpin hole is measured and the angular offsets were recorded.
