Measuring Fixture 4
15-Aug-2006
One of the keyways in the wheels was known to be off
by about 1 degree. I needed to know the exact angular offset, and I had
to assure myself that the other wheels were correct. I made a measuring
fixture. The first step was to make a plug for the rotary table. The
smaller diameter was a close slip fit in the table and the larger was
an even closer slip fit in the wheel bore. I also cut a slot in the end
about halfway through the diameter. This will be used to hold a bar of
key material to assist in aligning the rotary table.
This shows the bar tapped into the plug ready for
aligment.
