Liner Pressing Party 1
7-Jan-2006
Here Matt, Gorden, and I are pressing in the
cyclinder and valve chest liners.
I used the arbor press at the Deerfield &
Roundabout railway as it was the only press big enough to hold the
cyclinders.
I purchased 10lbs of dry ice to cool down the
liners. I left the cyclinder casting at room temperatrure. The
'lubricant' I used was White Lead at the suggestion of Gordon Carlson.
This profides a lubracant during the pressing process and makes a bond
with the liner and cyclinder casting.
