The first step in machining the sideframe is to clamp it to the mill table on blocks and shims to get an aveerage level. The rest of the machining will be done from the refrence surfaces machined during this step. I machinde the inside surface of the bearing journals, the brake mounting bosses, the bolster slide plates (sides and inside surface), and the bottom of the bolster opening (wher the spring plate will me mounted).
